Creating solutions through technology
Technologies at Denmark SHS develops students' ability to design, produce and evaluate solutions for authentic real-world challenges. Students engage with a range of materials, processes, tools and digital systems to create products, services and systems that meet genuine needs.
The WA Curriculum Technologies framework comprises two interrelated strands: Design & Technologies (covering materials, food, textiles and digital systems in a design context) and Digital Technologies (computational thinking, coding, data, algorithms and cybersecurity).

Strand 1
Design & Technologies
Students apply design thinking to create products using a range of materials and processes. Focus areas include food technology, textiles, wood, metal and plastic materials — students design, plan, produce and evaluate their work against user needs and sustainability considerations.

Strand 2
Digital Technologies
Students develop computational thinking and digital problem-solving skills. They design and implement algorithms, write code in real programming languages, collect and interpret data, and understand how digital systems and networks operate in society.
